تعتبر الكتاكيت هي حجر الأساس في عملية انتاج بداري التسمين الجيدة ولابد ان يتوفر فيها مظاهر الجودة ويبدو عليها مظاهر الحيوية والنشاط ابتداء من صواني الفقس وحتى الوصول الى مزرعة الاستقبال.
العوامل المؤثرة على جودة الكتكوت
- العوامل الوراثية
- قطيع أمهات التسمين (الحالة الصحية والمناعة -عمر القطيع)
- برامج التغذية ونوع الغذاء لقطيع أمهات التسمين
- جودة بيض التفريخ المنتج من وضع البيضة حتى الفقس
- المعاملات التي تجرى داخل معمل التفريخ وحالات الفرز والتجهيز
- عملية نقل الكتاكيت الى المزرعة (لابد من توافر الشروط البيئية أثناء نقل الكتاكيت) درجة الحرارة 22-28 م ، الرطوبة النسبية حد أدني 50% ، معدل تغيير الهواء 0.7 متر/دقيقة/1000 كتكوت.
مواصفات الكتاكيت الجيدة
- أن تكون السرة ملتئمة بشكل تام
- أن تكون خالية من التشوهات
- أن تكون نظيفة بعد الفقس
- يجب أن تتمتع بالحيوية والنشاط (عمل اختبار الحيوية عن طريق وضع الكتكوت على ظهره فيجب ان يكون قادر على الوقوف في خلال 3 ثواني)
- أن تكون العين نظيفة جافة لامعة
- القدرة على الوقوف بثبات، والتحرك بشكل جيد
- أن تكون الارجل دافئة تخلو من الخدوش أو التآكل، ولا يوجد بها احمرار او ورم بالعرقوب.
